A Trio Of Interior Designers Dreams Up A New Boise Design Store

They say that good things come in threes, and Scenic. The Storied Home is living proof. Located in downtown Boise, this design store is the brainchild of local interior designers and friends Kate Loftus, Maren Swank and Kasey Fitzgerald. After partnering on a series of pop-ups and sharing office space for several years, the trio took their collaboration to the next level and opened a brick-and-mortar store. “As designers, we really wanted to feature things that we’ve struggled to find locally,” explains Swank of the group’s starting point, which has evolved to include soft goods, housewares and furnishings with customizable upholstery. “Despite our different aesthetics in our practices, we all really appreciate the home space, so it works surprisingly well when we make selections for the store,” Loftus says. “Ultimately, if we wouldn’t put it in our own home, then we won’t carry it,” Fitzgerald adds. More than just a place to shop, Scenic regularly offers design-focused workshops and events to the community. With new lighting lines, styling accessories and wallpaper offerings slated for the shop’s second anniversary in 2026, it’s clear the story of Scenic is just getting started.
