Max Humphrey And Old Hickory Unveil A Rustic Chic Collection

Known for his proclivity for Americana motifs, Portland interior designer Max Humphrey has become synonymous with Pacific Northwest design. Homeowners across the country have gravitated to his approachable design style, and now they have even more options for bringing Humphrey home. For his latest furniture collection, the designer found the ideal collaborator in heritage company Old Hickory. “When I was working on my book Lodge, which showcases interiors of historic National Park lodges, every single one I visited had Old Hickory pieces,” Humphrey reflects. “When it was time to design my collection, I wanted to honor the past but design furnishings that are meant for today.” Featuring lounge chairs, bed frames, dressers and daybeds, each piece evokes the rustic look and feel that Humphrey fell in love with during his research but with modern fabrics and materials that work for today’s homes. “I love the fact that Old Hickory pieces are still made the same way they were a hundred years ago,” the designer says. “I wanted to present something that the next generation would recognize while still honoring the heritage of the brand.”
