The classic Shingle-style house can take “a wide array of elements,” says architect H. Gary Frank, who reinterpreted the form for a young family’s home in Wilmette. The final design features traditional gables, a large porch, a whimsical turret and a facade that gently curves over the front entry. “When designing these homes, it’s always nice to soften the facade in some way,” he adds.
