California Closets’ Caren Antone On The Importance Of Tailored Organization Systems
Personalizing our homes to our specific needs makes life more enjoyable—for proof, just check out this playful pink laundry room in a San Diego-area home by California Closets design consultant Cynthia Binski. The space maximizes both storage and fun thanks to the back-painted glass in the brand’s Petal Pink colorway. Below, we talk with Caren Antone, California Closets senior design consultant, about why tailored organization systems matter.
How can a professional help?
Most of my clients want to be organized but don’t know how to get there. A thoughtfully organized design transforms any room. We can create bedroom systems with integrated media and wardrobe storage; turn closets into workspaces; add cabinetry to garages; and recast underutilized areas into pantry or wine storage.
How does the conversation begin?
With discovery questions to learn a client’s routine and what is important to them. I ask if there are things they wish they had. Budget is an important factor, and we offer design ideas that are simple but with special touches.
How can clients can add further personalization?
Finishes and hardware are a great way to add more customization. The new Desert Agave finish brings an elevated pop of color—I love it as a standalone or paired with our woodgrain Quiet Grove and bronze-finish hardware. Our nature-inspired color palette and material offerings are curated by a dedicated design team that ensures all our offerings work together beautifully.
