20 White Kitchens You Need To Bookmark For Renovation Inspo
It doesn’t get any more timeless than a clean, white kitchen. Whether you prefer a traditional feel with stainless steel accents, or a high-gloss look that’s more mod, here are 20 white kitchens sure to inspire a design decision (or two).
BRASS ACCENTS
The kitchen cabinets, featuring satin brass hardware by Schoolhouse and painted in Farrow & Ball’s White Tie, are topped with honed Calacatta Vagli marble countertops and a continuous backsplash. Flush-mount fixtures from The Urban Electric Co. punctuate sight lines to the living room.
CLASSIC BEAUTY
Round-back counter stools from Hickory Chair encourage lingering in a handsome classic kitchen, which is outfitted with white perimeter cabinetry and two quartzite-topped oak islands by Distinctive Custom Cabinetry.
NATURAL LIGHT
A Light & Green fixture shines on the Caesarstone-topped kitchen island. Because the space offers some of the best views in the house, the Form & Refine stools are popular seats. Emtek hardware accents the StyleLite cabinetry from Design Support. On the backsplash is Silestone from RioStones. The Thermador range is from Ferguson.
WARM ACCENTS
In Armonk, New York, an open kitchen melds a Miele cooktop with integrated appliances from Sub-Zero. White ash wood paneled ceilings warm the scheme. At the forefront, the great room’s dining zone features a Tod Von Mertens table, Ben Whistler chairs upholstered in Holly Hunt fabric and a chandelier from Ochre.
ISLAND TIME
Family and friends can gather at the Calacatta marble island on vintage Lucite stools upholstered in Pavoni leather from De Sousa Hughes. Overhead are Terrarium pendant lights by Lindsey Adelman, which show how a branching chandelier might appear when turned inside-out.
MIXED MATERIALS
Craftsmanship and beautiful materials add interest to this airy white kitchen, from the rift-cut white-oak island to the Calacatta quartzite countertops from Arizona Tile. A stainless steel range hood made by GrayLeaf Studio has also “become the focal point of the kitchen,” says designer Lissa Lee Hickman.
VERDANT VIEWS
To ground the kitchen, designer Brittany Bromley painted the mullions of the windows black. The cabinets feature fixtures from Katonah Architectural Hardware and the backsplash and counters are a honed white arabesque marble from Alise Marble & Granite Inc. in Bedford Hills. A vintage French gilt chandelier hangs over the island.
MAKING ROOM
By removing a peninsula and taking down interior walls, designer Jennifer Ribek was able to double the size of this kitchen and install a large island. Working with general contractor Kevin P. Carter, she outfitted the space with Silestone counters from Stone Tower Granite and Marble and a backsplash of weathered white glazed tile from Clé Tile. RH brass handles accent the cabinetry.
MOD MOMENT
Chairs from Addison House serve as a warm counterpoint to the pale backdrop of white high-gloss lacquered cabinetry and Calacatta marble backsplashes and countertops. Counter stools covered in white eco leather surround the kitchen island.
NEW DIRECTION
In Florida, architect Thomas Hoos overhauled this formerly traditional kitchen, adding Miele and Monogram appliances, a Franke sink and faucet, a backsplash of Calacatta marble from Neolith’s Classtone collection and new ipe wood flooring. A trio of Danish Design Store’s Caravaggio P3 pendants illuminates an island topped with Corian quartz in Snow White, which harbors Design Within Reach’s LEM Piston stools.
BRIGHT OUTLOOK
Light, bright surfaces keep natural light flowing throughout the kitchen, which features Calacatta Regina marble countertops and Café subway tile, all from Walker Zanger, and custom Shaker-style cabinetry. Warming up the look are a trio of brass pendants by Visual Comfort & Co., rope-wrapped counter stools from Palecek and white-oak shelving.
WORKING TOGETHER
An antique whitewashed pine table and Swedish chairs hold court in a Vero Beach, Florida, kitchen, which designer Susan Zises Green left largely untouched. The island’s walnut countertop complements the marble backsplash; beige linen draperies line the windows.
VISUAL CUES
Rustic beams and wood detailing on the range hood inject texture into the white kitchen. Sculptural stools by Arteriors and oversize matte black and brass pendants by Rejuvenation add similar exclamation points. Designer Mary Jo Fiorella chose materials—delicately veined marble and backsplash tile with a subtle texture—that would add depth and visual interest.
GATHERING SPOT
Custom Palecek barstools upholstered in Vanguard Spectrum leather pull up to a walnut countertop in the kitchen, where crisp white cabinetry from Traditional Inc. plays to the soothing palette selected by the design team.
SLEEK STYLE
In Miami, a sleek, all-white kitchen offers a view into the dining area and the mercury-glass base of the restored 1940s French table. Twin Murano glass-and-brass lights—sourced through Michel Contessa Antiques—hang overhead, and the Atlantic Ocean beckons through the living area’s floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
RUSTIC TOUCHES
In this kitchen, reclaimed beams and planking contrast with white cabinets and marble counters from Arizona Tile. The lanterns are from Gregorius Pineo.
MADE TO FUNCTION
Custom cabinetry from Landmark Kitchen & Bath Design, an integrated quartz countertop and backsplash from Tithof Tile & Marble, and a showstopping brass-and-steel hood from Wayward Machine Co. transform a once-dated kitchen. The pendants are from Arteriors.
FEATURE WALL
For this Charlotte, North Carolina, kitchen, the design team created a dimensional feature wall complemented by a Calacatta Gold marble backsplash–to which they added a subtle pass-through to the scullery beyond. Mauney completed the look with a Caroline Boykin mixed-media work from Anne Neilson Gallery and a trio of leather-covered counter stools by A. Rudin.

In this airy kitchen, the cabinetry and cherrywood floors were painted white, maximizing the impact of the natural light. The kitchen was also refreshed with new Ann Sacks ceramic subway tile, Corian countertops in Cameo White and a Franke stainless-steel sink with a Dornbracht Elio faucet; the counter stools are from Janus et Cie in Chicago. The vintage French poster from Atlas Gallery, also in Chicago, adds a touch of whimsy.

McGuire counter stools from Baker face the kitchen island, which is topped with honed marble from Modul Marble & Granite in Sun Valley, California. Sky blue paint on the ceiling contrasts with the white painted cabinets by O.B. Williams Company. Charles Edwards pendants light the space, and Tulu fabric from Nicky Rising in Los Angeles covers the valance. The Wolf range is from Albert Lee.
