Maximalists, rejoice. The sixth annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas is here. This year's Lone Star State edition of the renowned show house embraces color, champions creativity and provides no shortage of delicious design details to uncover. Below, get inspired by just a few of the showcase's stunning rooms.
A New Take On Timeless
An elegant narrative unfolds in "The Morning Garden" by Paloma Contreras. The space unfolds in layers—a dining area, a relaxed seating nook and an adjoining hall. The dining area in particular is a light-filled and inviting morning room mergining elegance and ease. Its most showstopping feature is perhaps the bespoke hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper, "Hortus Medicus," from the newly launched Bunny Mellon collection. The wallpaper's design is based on 17th-century canvas paintings and was rendered in a custom palette exclusively for the show house. Drapery by The Shade Store boasts trim from Contreras’s collection with Schumacher. Throughout the space, past and present intersect in an elegant dance.

Into The Light
In "Petite Piéce de Lumiére" or the "little room of light," bureau interior architecture | design turns the focus on materiality. Modernity takes center stage, while contemporary references also appear. Dedar raw silk upholstered walls and roman shades and drapery crafted by The Shade Store reflect light off of the Benjamin Moore-coated high gloss ceiling and crown molding. Custom upholstered furnishings from BH Home are adorned with plush pillows and blankets in earthy hues. Above all, the "room concentrates on lightness," shares the design team, functioning as "a listening room, lounge, office and sunroom all-in-one." Here, respite is the only requirement.

Star Power
Welcome to the “Belvedere Room,” a Kips Bay lounge conceived as a modern-day salon by Studio Thomas James. Layers of detail and craftsmanship add intrigue. Look up and see the Donghia Renaldo 18-arm chandelier in Champagne and Brushed Gold making a grand statement. Artisanal flair arrives through custom chests in burled walnut and flamed maple with inlaid brass. Phillip Jeffries Avon Scenic Roselyn wallcovering on Supernova White Stardust Silk wraps around the room, while the ceiling shimmers with Phillip Jeffries Rembrandt in Paris Black Wash. The result is an almost-celestial ambiance.

Come Together
Inspired by the tradition of parlors from generations past, Yates Desygn reimagines what it means to gather today in their space for Kips Bay Dallas. Consider it a place to connect, entertain and celebrate moments together. A foundation of historic architecture sets the backdrop for contemporary pieces. See: the custom striped drapery by The Shade Store and an intriguing brass mesh ceiling structure atop traditional elements. To bridge past and present, the rug was cut on an angle to reveal glimpses of the parquet flooring beneath."This parlor is not about formality for its own sake; it’s about creating a space that feels youthful, fresh and approachable while still rooted in tradition," the team shares. Mission accomplished, we proclaim.

The Season's Diamond
Talk about a jewel box moment. Design by Tula delights with "The Emerald Room," imagined as an "exquisite sanctuary" where "sophisticated elegance meets enveloping comfort." Finished in a glossy lacquer, the lounge's verdant walls form a cozy cocoon. The color story unfolds with a hand-blown glass chandelier in a mix of delicate pink, golds and whites. Black crackled deco tiles by TileBar ground the space. Arteriors’ Drover Outdoor Tables serve a new purpose indoors, adding a masculine edge to the radiant room. Custom Art Deco paintings dot the walls. The swanky space offers an ode to Old Hollywood glamour; head to the gleaming brass bar to cheers to that.

Time To Play
Mahjong is having a moment. Case in point: the "Moonlight Pavilion" by Ellerslie Interiors where both the timeless tradition of the game and the beauty of Asian artistry are thrust into the spotlight. The space transports guests to 1930s Shanghai with Art Deco geometry and a host of glamorous touches. Moiré silk walls from Schumacher make for a shimmering backdrop, while a gilded geometric ceiling gives the space a cozy warmth and glow. Custom-fabricated screens upholstered in Schumacher fabric subtly divide the room. The mahjong area on the other side features a Macao mahjong set by Hermès, and is anchored by a Brigitte fossilized stone table from Made Goods. A pleated Urban Electric pendant hangs above the table. Visit the cocktail and refreshment station, where an Arteriors Manhattan bar cabinet is styled with lamps from Dallas-based JAMES Showroom.

Feeling Blue
Benjamin Moore's Robin Nest sets the tone for this listening lounge by Avery Cox Design. The space, dubbed "Blue in Green," pays homage to a classic Miles Davis song with the same name. Cox reimagines the legacy of American chic through her design. The room features a layered window treatment from The Shade Store. A patterned Muriel Brandolini silk roman shade filters daylight into a decidedly moody glow. The custom-made ottoman featuring mottled velvet from Kerry Joyce through George Cameron Nash, citron leather piping from Samuel & Sons and oversized rosettes from Houles through David Sutherland anchors the center of the space. An antique Vaughan chandelier made of brass and glass tops the room. The resulting lounge is a striking yet easy going escape.

Refined Retreat
The River Room by Doniphan Moore Interiors channels quiet drama. John Cullen Lighting defines the luxurious, rich mood. The foundation of the space lies in the hand-finished artistry of Casci Plaster, whose work wraps the walls in a serene, tactile richness. The decorative trim provides a crisp architectural frame. Drapery from The Shade Store imbues the space with movement and warmth. A custom hand-painted wallpaper by De Gournay surrounds the area. The room feels atmospheric, lush and deliciously suspenseful.
