Rustic Neutrals

A Troscan daybed covered in fabric by Holland & Sherry and a sculptural chair by Arne Jacobsen from Haute Living surround a teak root coffee table from Jayson Home, creating a cozy seating area in the living room.

Clean Canvas

In the light-filled living room, plaster walls continue up to the ceiling for a seamless look. Complementing this clean canvas are Calhoun Metalworks windows donning draperies made from Zak+Fox’s Basilica linen. Dressed in a teal Carlucci di Chivasso wool, Coup D’Etat’s curvy Italian club chair joins two cream-colored sofas from Bungalow Classic.

Worldly Charm

Jeroen Nelemans’ art hangs above a Lee Industries sofa with Suzani pillows in the living area of this upgraded 1939 Miami bungalow by designer Anil Kakar. A vintage Moroccan rug grounds the room, and another covers an ottoman from Jalan Jalan Collection, where Kakar sourced the chairs. Next to an antique Indian column, a midcentury modern lamp rests on a side table from India.

Refined Coziness

A sitting area in the master bedroom includes a rounded-out fireplace, a funky rug and two different yet complementary chairs.

To make the spacious master bedroom feel a little cozier, designer Heather Ryan enlisted Modern Group to create a wood parquet floor. On either side of the fireplace, aged iron sconces by Kelly Wearstler for Visual Comfort & Co. are almost sculpture-like.

Pops Of Color

The living room, inspired by the lobby at Aspen’s Hotel Jerome, is outfitted with small seating arrangements to accommodate gatherings of all sizes. Here, two Harry Bertoia for Knoll chairs perch by the fireplace while Ligne Roset chairs face the existing sofa. The Gallotti & Radice floor lamp is from Mass Beverly, and the painting is by Caio Fonseca.

Above the fireplace in the great room, designer Stephanie Wohlner hung a carved wood piece by Formations from Holly Hunt. A. Rudin sofas, Mike Bell chairs and a Liaigre coffee table from David Sutherland create a cozy gathering space.

Entertaining Enclave

Family and friend gatherings are on the agenda in this living room. Guests take seats for impromptu piano recitals on Heather Hilliard-designed sofas and Jean de Merry armchairs, while kids do homework on the Sancal game table. The pair of Fado coffee tables are by Emmanuel Levet Stenne and Isabelle Sicart.

Designer Rebecca Salcito knew she wanted to tie together the two separate seating arrangements in the living room, so she opted for a custom Kyle Bunting hide rug that spans the entire space. In the formal area, a Fendi Casa sofa and a pair of A. Rudin armchairs are all swathed in Great Plains by Holly Hunt fabric.

Treetop Nook

A cozy nook situated among the treetops, the home’s upstairs lounge invites relaxation thanks to its concrete fireplace and a Verellen chaise, from Bungalow Classic in Atlanta, covered in Sandra Jordan’s Prima Alpaca fabric. A Stephen Pace painting hangs above the fireplace, while a vintage Moroccan rug from Tew Galleries in Atlanta lends visual warmth below.

Cool Comfort

In the living room, an abstract family portrait is the focal point over the fireplace. The custom sectional upholstered in a neutral Perennials fabric creates a cozy seating area around the fire. An armchair covered in a charcoal-hued Kneedler-Fauchere fabric and pillows in a range of blues offer hints of cool color to the quiet palette.

Beige Backdrop

The sofa in the living area, covered in Colefax and Fowler linen, pairs with cozy armchairs in Larsen’s Sidney textile. The Tiger Penshell coffee table, Mark D. Sikes wooden chairs and Visual Comfort floor and table lamps are from Hive Home, Gift & Garden. Brunschwig & Fils’ Les Touches print covers the benches. Benjamin Moore’s Patriotic White adorns the ceiling.

Designer David Oldroyd added a slatted, white-oak screen to define the entry and the living room. The cross-cut, elm-wood coffee table, designed by Oldroyd and crafted by MRCW, adds an organic element to the living room.

Coastal Warmth

In the living room, designer Raili Clasen paired a Croft House sectional with a coffee table from The Future Perfect and a side table from Lawson-Fenning. The Moroccan rug was an Etsy find, as were the Axel Larsson nesting tables. The lamp is by Allied Maker.

The sand-colored rug, linen draperies, Minotti sectional and travertine coffee and console tables bring a sense of serenity to the living area. Pops of color come from the Minotti chairs and the sofa pillows made of antique suzani textiles. The C-shaped sculpture—from the designer’s boutique, Kakar House of Design—is made of antique industrial machine parts.

In the living area of a Palm Beach villa, designers Lori Deeds and Kerol DeCristo surrounded a Made Goods coffee table with slipper chairs in a John Stefanidis fabric, a Hickory Chair sofa in a Schumacher textile, a Palecek stool and custom petal chairs. A sisal area rug from Rosenfeld Carpet grounds the arrangement, and a Mr. Brown lantern hangs above.

Artistic Frame chairs upholstered in Holly Hunt Great Plains fabric, patterned armchairs covered in Cowtan & Tout Rajah material and a Murano glass floor lamp from Kirby Antiques round out a family room grouping atop a rug from Retorra. C2 Art Advisors assisted with the home’s art collection, including a Robert Longo pigment print from McClain Gallery over the mantel and Christian Rosa’s mixed media on canvas. Interior lighting is by Douglas Architectural Lighting.

The living room has several seating areas to allow friends to mingle. A Ferrell Mittman ratchet-arm sofa holds center stage with its classic profile. A pair of tufted leather Nancy Corzine slipper chairs sits to the left, while a skirted Harley armchair by John Saladino is perched at right. An acrylic coffee table from Travis & Company offers a view of the custom Stark rug beneath it.

In the guest room, a soothing but crisp palette of cooler pastel tones was selected to complement the warmth of the oak floor and millwork.

Easy Breezy

Designer Paula Myette and interior designer Faith Fix selected a custom Lee Jofa-upholstered sofa and Pindler fabric-covered armchairs, both from Century Furniture, for the living room. “It was important to the homeowner to have furniture that would be comfortable to sit down on with a book,” says Myette. A wool area rug from Abbey Carpet & Floor rests atop Legno Bastone wood flooring.
