Chapter 5: Bath
As the room where we begin and end each day, a bathroom should “feel like a little slice of heaven as we wake and unwind,” muses designer Kat Lawton. For a primary bath in Washington, Lawton delivered on that sentiment with a thoughtful medley of natural materials in neutral tones crowned by a sumptuous soaking tub. The peaceful space also serves as a reminder that with smaller square footage to budget for, it’s a room to splurge on the “jewelry.” Think: hand-rubbed hardware, distinctive stone and tile selections, and artisan-grade finishes.
