The day began at Burton James with “Psychology of Design,” moderated by LUXE Editor in Chief Jill Cohen. Tracee Murphy, Megan Gorelick and Georgia Zikas explored the role of emotional intelligence in navigating client relationships, leading teams and building successful design businesses.

At Dennis Miller, Senior Market Editor Sarah Shelton moderated “Built Here: A Century of American Making,” bringing together representatives from Boyd Lighting, Hilliard and Altura Furniture alongside interior designer Anjali Pollack for a conversation about American craftsmanship and the value of in-house production.

Collaboration took center stage at Verellen, where architect Jeffrey Dungan and interior designer Sean Anderson joined Jill for “A Creative Partnership: Designing Together.” Their decade-long working relationship provided the backdrop for a discussion about trust, creative exchange and creating homes with feeling.

At Benjamin Moore, Kathryn Given, Executive Director, Editorial + Brand Content, moderated “For the Love of Paint: On Color, Craft & Collaboration.” Designers Elizabeth Bennett, Mallory Robins, Christina Kim and Tina Ramchandani were joined by professional painters Bill Alpaugh and Jonatan Correa to explore the partnership between creative vision and technical execution.

Together, the panels offered a multifaceted look at design, from the relationships that sustain a business to the hands and materials that bring a vision to life.
