For the breakfast nook, Caulkins transformed one of the homeowner’s industrial steel tables by painting its top with 12 coats of white automotive paint. She paired it with classic Knoll chairs and softened the space with upholstery for the cozy banquette. “We wanted to draw attention to the architectural details here and the beautiful, arched window,” says Caulkins.
