On The LUXE Connect Podcast, Designer Amanda Reynal Reflects On The Timeless Charm Of Her Palm Beach Home
A designer’s own home is always a special story. On the latest episode of the LUXE Connect Podcast, interior designer Amanda Reynal joins LUXE South Florida Homes Editor Jennifer Pfaff Smith to revisit the design process behind her Palm Beach residence: the colorful Casa Tortuga, which was crowned cover star of LUXE’s March/April 2026 South Florida issue.
Reynal’s home was not a blank state. In fact, it was a century old. “It’s so important for me as a designer and also as a resident for the home to have a sense of place as well as a sense of history,” she shares. She unified earlier renovations while honoring 1920s West Palm Beach architecture, creating a house with a unique personality that still feels in place in its locale and rooted in its history.
Rattan, woven materials, wood, stone and shells give the interiors tactile depth without making them feel overly rustic, while the garden, with its Roman-style pool, loggia, outdoor dining area and carefully curated plantings, feels both tropical and sophisticated.
“A home should feel like it knows you,” Reynal tells our LUXE editor on the Podcast. “It should be there to make life easier and happier.” Casa Tortuga certainly succeeds in fostering a happy atmosphere, courtesy of its charming array of patterns and color palette anchored in pink and green.
Learn more about the design process behind Reynal’s own home—including the personal touch behind its nickname—on episode 5 of the LUXE Connect Podcast.
