Rediscover This Artful Modern Penthouse Designed By Grohe Spa Star Alizée Brion
Light on White Design Studio founder Alizée Brion, who was featured as a GROHE SPA star designer just last week, has an eye for quiet luxury and thoughtful restraint. Refined materiality and a chic sense of serenity are at the heart of her design ethos, and this Miami penthouse she conceived is a great example of it. Against sweeping views, Brion balanced modern elegance with artful silhouettes, punctuated by unforgettable material moments and bold art. Read on to rediscover this design gem.
Restrained Elegance, Meet Sweeping Penthouse Views
“I was amazed by the height of the apartment and how incredibly expansive the views are,” Brion recalls of her first time stepping into the 56-floor Miami penthouse. “You feel like you’re suspended between ocean and sky.”
A neutral palette that defers to the views creates a strong sense of serenity in the apartment, which was an important aspect of Brion’s vision for the project. “My client wanted this home not to feel too urban and more like an oasis,” the designer says. “That’s why we chose natural materials like travertine and oak.”
A Serene Home Filled With Elegant Moments That Also Encourage Gathering
Sizeable furnishings respond to the residence’s large scale through curved silhouettes and organic textures like warm woods and soft fabrics. To ensure each room is comfortably intimate, the interior designer formed groupings of purposeful pieces, including a collection of upholstered seating in the living area and a lengthy table with chairs aplenty in the dining area. “We wanted to keep the furniture low profile so the views remain the star of the show,” Brion notes.
These moments—which include a combination living, dining and bar area that can accommodate a DJ booth for parties—are perfectly designed for entertaining, which was another priority for Brion and her clients.
Paired With A Warm Neutral Palette, Bold Customization Leads The Design
The penthouse is punctuated with highly customized elements that infuse the home with art and glamour. An undulating white oak wall with an organic feel, a watercolor-like wallpaper and high-gloss ceiling in the foyer or the translucent floor-to-ceiling blue cast-resin panels of the living room are captivating moments that live comfortably against the backdrop of an otherwise neutral palette.
The result is a special kind of restrained glamour that manages to be serene and dynamic all at once. One thing is certain: It may not just be the view that takes guests’ breath away as they walk into this penthouse now.
