Since 2002, Relics in Phoenix has combined upscale consignment—think stackable vintage Louis Vuitton trunks and a table set with Hermès china—with imported, hand-selected European antiques.
Owner Tim Harris has curated his offerings with the “three Ds” in mind: “People are either done decorating, divorcing or downsizing,” Harris says. “We want to strike the perfect balance of having interesting antique objects but not going overboard.”
Harris is keen on Spanish pottery’s color, form and pattern, noting it translates well to contemporary interiors without appearing dated. “I also look at furnishings with an eye toward antique forms that have been reinterpreted,” Harris says. “Sometimes we strip off the finish of old pieces for a lighter, more contemporary feel.”
