Following The Hoxton in April, Nobu Hotel Chicago is one of the most anticipated hotel debuts in the city, set to open its doors in early 2020. A partnership between Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa and actor Robert De Niro, the hotel features an exterior that fuses old-world Japanese art, new-world utilitarian architecture and accessible sophistication–a perfect match among the West Loop vintage buildings that surround it. With local Modif Architecture as the architect of record and Studio K Creative handling design, the guest rooms boast a mix of dark and light that plays off the shadows, resulting in artful patterns and geometry in each space. Of course, Nobu wouldn’t be complete without an eponymous restaurant; the property will also have a stunning rooftop space and a sushi bar.
