Go On A Treasure Hunt For Your Home At Abode Fine Living in Phoenix

Details

With High Street in North Phoenix continuing to evolve, this mixed-use destination is getting increasing attention these days. And for stores like Abode Fine Living, which has anchored the development for more than five years, that’s welcome news.

Owned by Catherine Crandall, the 4,000-square-foot shop moved to High Street from Scottsdale and showcases an eclectic collection of contemporary and transitional furnishings with a few nods to the old-world design that Crandall loves. The result is, as she puts it, a “treasure hunt” of discovery.

Take a lap around the store and you may spot carved teakwood doors from Indonesia or bouclé swivel chairs. (The latter lasted just a week on the showroom floor.) Pick up a beaded antelope skull (available in custom patterns and colors) or a sleek interpretation of a human head. But the joy is not only in the discovery; it’s also in the inspiration. Crandall, whose background is in banking and finance, makes a point of grouping objects and furniture in a way that inspires ideas. And if you love something but aren’t sure how it would work in your home, Abode offers design services as well.
