Fireclay Tile recently opened a new space in the River North Design District, showcasing the brand’s handcrafted, made-to-order products. “Opening in Chicago is a huge milestone in our mission to bring beautiful, American-made tile to everyone,” says CEO Eric Edelson of the California-based company’s first Midwestern showroom. Across the board, there’s an emphasis on sustainable materials and bold colorways. Visitors to the showroom can peruse Fireclay Tile’s wide range of offerings, including freeze-proof architectural glass tiles ideal for both indoor and outdoor use, and a new collection of mosaic tiles that encompasses a multitude of patterns and coordinating borders. Also on display is the brand’s recently debuted bath line, designed with sculptural metal and handcrafted ceramic knobs that offer an unprecedented level of customization for faucets and showers. “Chicago is a city where craft, architecture and bold creative vision converge,” Edelson says. “That aligns deeply with who we are.”
