Wallpaper and fabrics have always been a passion of designer Kim Scodro’s. “Their use in a room can transform a space in so many ways,” says the founder and principal of Kim Scodro Interiors. For years, she gathered samples that had a shared aesthetic—classic, tailored and possessing a touch of floral softness. Partnering with wallcoverings brand Milton & King, Scodro created a collection that would tell a story around a classic garden framework. “My inspiration was an English garden and all the beauty you find in its design,” she says. Aptly named The Tailored Garden, the collection—available locally at the Baker showroom at The Mart—offers painterly florals, ribboned botanicals and trellis patterns mixed with simple lines in a color palette of pinks, browns, blues and greens. “It feels optimistic, traditional and highly livable,” says Bryce Capp, Milton & King creative director. “There is a beautiful balance between softness and order.” Fabrics are made with cotton and linen, while the wallpapers feature non-woven and grass-cloth grounds. Each wallcovering and textile is produced to order, which allows the brand to maintain a high level of quality control. “They are designed to be a backdrop or the star of the show,” Scodro says.
