From October 6 to 11, designers can discover a series of creative events meant to surprise, delight and engage all the senses during Desert Design Week. Building on this year’s theme, “Collected in Dialog,” the celebration will showcase what founder Ruth Price describes as opportunities to “spend meaningful time with a designer, artist or creative leader.” Among the more than 10 curated experiences are a visit to House of Form’s new restaurant, Kuza; a tour of two historic adobe homes with Wiseman & Gale, culminating in a culinary event within a private botanical garden; and afternoon tea at Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows. “We are creating more crossover between the disciplines,” Price says. “An event might bring together architecture, art, landscape, food, music and material in a single experience.” This, she notes, speaks to the evolution of Desert Design Week as much as the process of design itself, which is integrated, connected and layered.
